The name derives from a little game of words: ‘Ape’ comes from Piaggio Ape, the famous little 3-wheeler widely used in the narrow streets of Italy, ‘Regina’ puts the crown on top, however these two words together also mean the bee queen.
The concept of the restaurant seems pretty simple, however it was first of its kind: an all-you-can-eat, Italian restaurant.
The restaurant has a multifunctional space, where there is a spacious area that can be perfect to have a coffee or drink, in general a meeting point. As we going further the open kitchen can be seen, in front of the kitchen there is a counter holding the wide range of the dishes. The excellent wine selection of the restaurant is situated on high shelves running around the whole space. Next to it can be find the counter of the desserts.
The design concept incorporates the different elements – the open, industrial ceilng, the rustic tiles, custom-made copper lamps and the natural wooden surfaces – creating a pleasant eclectic feeling.
