ELEGANT HOME WITH A TWIST OF ART DECO

Budapest, Hungary

Year of execution: 2010
Total area: 150 sqm
Task: interior architecture, design and construction

Third, having paid full attention to each function, the three level apartment in a detached house was reconstructed successfully. The small kitchen near the main entrance was converted into a spacious hall while the new kitchen was built in the basement which now offers excellent sorrounding for a wine cellar, too. In this way the basement, previously without separate function, was redesigned and now it is an exciting area leading directly to the garden.

The staircase used to be walled up and now, without walls, it adds extra space to the living room. There is a fireplace, now redesigned, and a TV panel with exciting wall paper finish. The comfortable sitting furniture and airy shelves nicely downplay the weight of the fireplace and the TV panel. Downstairs are the master bedroom, the built-in wardrobe and the master bathroom. If it were not for the heart-warming textiles and furniture in etno style, the space in the basement would be uncomfortable, more like as if in an usual cellar.
