COUNTRY HOUSE IN A STYLE OF TRANSYLVANIAN SECESSION
IN THE DANUBE BEND
- Year of execution: 2005-2010
- Total area: 450 sqm
- Task: architectural planning and interior design, construction
This gorgeous country house with the style of Transylvanian secession from the early 20th century became a property of our client in the 90’s. The house was used as a company recreational country house earlier, during the renovation it’s got a completely new inside and outside. The new-comers of the family generated new requestments, so the building went through some functional re-design but we payed extra attention to keep its original characteristics and style.
The rooms on the groundfloor have been designed to the very frequent reception of guests, ie. the spacious kitchen and the living area with uniquely designed furniture, dining room and cigar room. The vine cellar became too small during the years thanks to the collector attitude of the owner so we designed a bigger, more modern vine storage.
In years the high-ceiling attic was occupied by the teenagers so we created their living area there keeping the pleasant contrast in between the old beams, elements and surfaces and the modern solutions.
