BELLE EPOQUE VILLA

Helvetia I design concept I execution I 2011

Built in the 18th century this protected historic belle époque villa in an important down town part of the Swiss city is located next to a Catholic church. After being in the possession of the Catholic Church for the past 50 years the present investor decided to dedicate the building for a high end super luxury guest house combined with famous collections of Louis XVI furniture, crystal chandeliers and medieval Italian Renaissance paintings. The core concept in the design process was to both highlight the outstanding artistic qualities of the collection in the light of the historic and valuable building and at the same time to provide a balanced guest hosting environment as well as a defined space for commercial purposes. In close cooperation with the authorities for authenticity we managed to the owner delight to design and build a fully-equipped and comfortable villa, featuring modern technical solutions and equally modern and elegant elements, maintaining harmony with the historic qualities of the villa.
