Eszter Radnóczy: “We are working on a new international hotel project”

We are talking in the last week of 2025 – how is este’r partners feeling as the year draws to a close?

We have had a very busy, eventful year. We are ending the year on a high note, with two new hotel openings and several real estate development projects to which we have contributed our creative and professional expertise. We are particularly pleased that we played a major role not only in the design but also in the implementation of the projects, and that in addition to the larger projects, we also handed over new offices and apartments. We have expanded our team with enthusiastic and dedicated young colleagues and have learned a lot from our professional travels. It’s been a good year!

Let’s start the year-end summary with a recent event: in Milan, the studio’s work was recognized by a prestigious international organization. What does this mean to you?

We have been members of a very exciting professional community for several years: este’r partners is a member of NEWH Milan, an international non-profit networking organization in the hospitality sector. This organization values female leaders and focuses on education, development, networking, and emphasizes the importance of recognition. It is a special honor that, alongside many high-ranking international and Italian design firms, our work was highlighted and praised this year.

At this event, you also mentioned two large and complex hotel projects this year. Why is this area so special?

Yes, I talked about two completely different projects at the awards ceremony, the Petit Bois boutique hotel in Balatonfüred and the new airport hotel in Budapest. In my opinion, an office needs to be experienced in hotel design, as this is one of the most complex areas of our profession. By drawing on professional experience gained in various projects and combining a creative and economic approach, it is easier to build successful and good hotels. Functionality, sustainability, implementation, and long-term operability must all be kept in mind during the creative process. As designers, we feel a great responsibility to ensure that these buildings function well, provide guests with a pleasant experience, and bring professional success to investors and operators.

International scale, specialized team, recognition. There has been a lot of talk about the TRIBE Budapest Airport hotel this year. How is it different from your previous work?

We have been working for several international hotel chains for years. Tribe is one of Accor’s dynamic and dominant brands, with a design focus on people, social connection, and accessible luxury. The brand and its brand book provide a defined framework for design, but designers are still expected to create something unique and recognizable that gives each Tribe Hotel its own identity.

How do these major projects shape your team?

We work hard on organizational development, but the planning areas cannot be completely separated from each other. In addition to project management, we have a creative team and a team focused on implementation planning. We have to place great emphasis on specifications and accurate material descriptions, which are fundamental to implementation, so some of our colleagues specialize specifically in FF&E expertise.

You are working on new international projects with your team. What can you tell us about them at this stage of planning?

Yes, the big news at our office for 2026 is that we have been working in Warsaw for some time on a heritage project for a well-known hotel chain. We are very much looking forward to its completion, for which we will be active consultants, and the opening is expected in 2027. In addition, we have several foreign projects in the pipeline or already underway, which I will be able to talk about next year.

Finally, how were your holidays?

After a very busy year, I spent the holidays with my family. Since we live and travel in three countries, it was really nice to be together with my children in one place. I would like to thank all our readers and partners for their collaboration, support, and opportunities in 2025, and I wish everyone a productive and successful new year!

Este’r partners wins Emilgroup’s international award

Eszter Radnóczy received the Italian Emilgroup Prestige Award for her work on the Petit Bois hotel, which was commissioned by Laki Zrt. and realized in partnership with ARX Architects. We are grateful for the recognition!

“When I talk about the five-star Petit Bois hotel, three words come to mind. Elegance – because Balatonfüred has always been a traditional, elegant meeting place in our country, much more than just a town on the shores of Lake Balaton: it has a beauty reminiscent of the past and enduring values.

Experience – the mission of hotel service is to provide an experience that appeals to all the senses, and Emilgroup’s wonderful products are an integral part of this, generous, rich in detail, uplifting to the touch and to the eye.

Privacy – this is what the hotel experience offers, with a wealth of sophisticated details and finely coordinated spaces where the emphasis is on recreation.

None of this would have been possible without international manufacturers offering the highest quality products, such as Emilgroup, whose Emil Unique Travertine collection is easy and enjoyable to work with as a designer: its versatile and elegant solutions perfectly met the needs of this luxury venue and value-oriented project.”

The Best In The Region: Petit Bois Füred

The World Luxury Hotel Awards, one of the world’s most prestigious luxury hotel industry competitions, has awarded the Petit Bois hotel in Balatonfüred the title of Best Luxury Adult Only Boutique Hotel in Eastern Europe. The hotel’s interior design concept was created by este’r partners, in partnership with the Laki Group and ARX Architects.

One of the world’s most prestigious luxury hotel industry competitions, the World Luxury Hotel Awards, has honored the Petit Bois Hotel in Balatonfüred with the title of Eastern Europe’s Best Luxury Adult-Only Boutique Hotel.

Commissioned by the LAKI Group, the hotel’s complete architectural renewal was led by ARX Studio, while the initial interior design concepts were developed by este’r partners. Several renowned brands, including JAB Anstoetz, Goa Home, and Art&Deco, played a significant role in shaping the hotel’s final interior character.

One of Balatonfüred’s architectural gems, the Rodostó Villa, originally built in 1908 near the shores of Lake Balaton, was reborn at the end of 2024 following careful design and reconstruction. Preserving its original architectural values, the villa reopened its doors as an elegant five-star superior boutique hotel. Petit Bois is located in one of Balatonfüred’s most refined areas, nestled in the green embrace of the “Petit Bois” (Little Forest) from which it takes its name.

The designers created five elegant suites per floor within the villa, complemented by three contemporary garden apartments. The architectural concept respected the building’s original massing, introducing the necessary extensions and additions with sensitivity and thoughtful care in response to its new function. Inside, tradition and a sense of permanence take center stage: the interior design solutions enhance the villa’s inherent beauty, highlighting its stone and wood craftsmanship as well as its classical proportions.

Every detail of the Petit Bois Hotel’s refined environment is dedicated to relaxation and to physical, emotional, and visual renewal. With the opening of this five-star boutique hotel, one of Balatonfüred’s most beautiful villas has begun its second life—now drawing the attention of the international hospitality scene.

The LAKI Group, as investor, has created an atmosphere of elegance and calm, subtly evoking the spirit of the turn of the 20th century, when the spa town—renowned for its thermal waters—experienced its golden age among nobility and the bourgeoisie. Alongside numerous preserved original architectural elements, such as historic stone flooring and restored wooden windows, the interior designers confidently combined classical and contemporary details, including decorative stucco and refined material pairings to achieve a sophisticated effect. In the graphic elements—such as wallpapers—the city’s protected flower, the pasqueflower, also makes an appearance.

The villa is surrounded by a breathtaking garden, allowing guests to connect with the landscape of Lake Balaton and the natural beauty of Balatonfüred from every room. Comfort is further enhanced by a mini conference room and a wellness area, while the rooftop offers a panoramic bar with 360-degree views and a discreetly placed pool, creating a truly distinctive atmosphere.

A recent interview with interior designer Eszter Radnóczy on the Art is Business website.

„Eszter Radnóczy has been working as the head of the interior design firm este’r partners, which also strengthens Italian-Hungarian relations, for twenty years now. The architectural studio, which strives for genuine partnerships, boasts countless successes both at home and abroad, from Denmark to Germany.
