Lake Balaton, which is also the jewel of Hungary, has a significant tourism relevance and is therefore an important part of Hungarian development policy.
One of the prides of Balatonfüred, located near the lake is Rodostó villa built in 1908, has long been in need of renovation. After careful planning and reconstruction, it was finally reborn in 2024. While preserving its original architectural values it has opened as an elegant five-star hotel.
While preserving its original architectural values, it was opened as an elegant five-star hotel. The hotel is named after the small forest next to it.
The hotel’s interiors were designed by este’r partners and its architecture by ARX Architects, commissioned by the Laki group.
The villa has five elegant apartments on each floor, and the hotel also has three modern garden apartments. The interior architects have created an elegant and relaxed atmosphere in the arrival area, recalling in part the atmosphere of the turn of the century, when the town, known for its thermal waters, was a heyday for the nobility and citizens of the spa town. Balatonfüred’s protected plant, the anemone, is also featured in the wallpaper graphics. This symbol has been further developed by the graphic designer of the este’r partner, and the distinctive floral motif is also reflected in the room signage and inscription solutions.
In addition to the many original architectural elements – original stone cladding and old wooden windows – the interior designers have boldly used classic and contemporary interior design elements, including striking stucco or a combination of special materials to achieve a sophisticated effect.
In addition to the suites and rooms, the SPA area and the rooftop bar with its 180-degree panoramic view offer a special atmosphere.
The Petit Bois is not just a hotel, but an island of tranquillity and elegance where guests can immerse themselves in the harmony of luxury and nature.
On the Szervita Square of Budapest, at the place of the former telephone centre, the investor Biggeorge Property dreamt the Emerald Residence Apartments and boutique hotel in a strong architectural unit with the Church of St. Anne, offering of the most precious estates of the city. Responsible of the project’s interior design concept is este’r partners.
The interior design team led the iconic emerald colour of the Residence through the internal spaces which, combined with geometric surfaces and materials, appears with an elegance worthy of gemstones. Emerald velvets encounter champagne colours, metals and shiny marbles rich in veins, which is complemented by the use of natural walnut wood, and the game of mirrors.
One of the prides of Balatonfüred, the Rodostó Villa, built in 1908, has been awaiting renovation for a long time. After careful planning and reconstruction, the building will finally be reborn this year to open its doors as an elegant, five-star hotel preserving the original architectural values. este’r partners, responsible for the interior design, now shows some of the details of the villa on visual plans.
Despite its austere decor, the overall image of the A52/Andrássy út 52 Hotel remains sporty and balanced. Geometric patterns keep returning – a good example is the original checkerboard patterned tiling in the corridors, which the designers have retained to give a rhythmic feel to the public spaces. While black and white predominate outside, the interiors are dominated by grey and red, grey and green and grey and blue motifs that draw the guest’s eye to the carpet, which, together with the asymmetrical wall painting, gives the interiors a sense of unity.
Andrássy street 3 is the so-called Saxlehner Palace, whose interiors are made grandiose by the frescoes of the famous painter Károly Lotz.
Our interior designers use classical, understated motifs to guide the visitor through the richly decorated (from the façade or common rooms) to the classically styled hotel rooms. The interiors are characterised by the use of copper-framed mirrors and shades of burgundy, mauve, olive green and deep blue. The wellness area houses a custom-designed fountain from which different types of water (bitter water, thermal water) can be sampled and compared.
The impressive old building has been transformed into an elegant hotel in the heart of Budapest. During the renovation we took part as an interior designer consultant to help the hotel team to select colours, surfaces, textiles etc.
Beside this we designed and partly executed the restaurant of the hotel (Bistro Fine) as well and got a commission to select the furniture to the lobby and lounge area. To create an impressive contrast in the historical building, we have chosen modern and simplistic sofas and armchairs and selected a traditional swedish piano from the early 20th century.
Art’otel Budapest – belonging to the international “Park Plaza Hotels” corporation with its main office in London – is a beautifully located hotel a few steps away from the famous Chain Bridge directly on the right bank of the Danube opposite to the Hungarian Parliament. The hotel comprises a modern complex and at its back four baroque buildings which have been reconstructed and retain their original beauty. Being the first lifestyle hotel in the region it is also renowned for exhibiting the artworks from Donald Sultan, a famous American artist.
The house was built in 1918, the structure and the interior shows many industrial influences as origingally a sewing manufacture worked there. During the design process we kept many of these industrial elements – steel beams, brick walls – which gave the mood of the hotel with a “loft feeling”, and softened it with textiles and carpets.
The centerpiece of each room the uniquely designed “floating” bed, the LED lighting under it to be installed to highlight this effect. In each room a custom-made divider separate the space for the living and the bathroom area and also a dominant element the headboard that is having a different colour-scheme in each room.
In the historical building we installed the latest architectural, plumbing and electrical technology that shows for example in the corridor where we closed the ceiling only with a net. The pipes can be seen together with the ceiling lamps that is also create a strong effect of the hotel interior.
