Eszter Radnóczy: “We are working on a new international hotel project”

We are talking in the last week of 2025 – how is este’r partners feeling as the year draws to a close?

We have had a very busy, eventful year. We are ending the year on a high note, with two new hotel openings and several real estate development projects to which we have contributed our creative and professional expertise. We are particularly pleased that we played a major role not only in the design but also in the implementation of the projects, and that in addition to the larger projects, we also handed over new offices and apartments. We have expanded our team with enthusiastic and dedicated young colleagues and have learned a lot from our professional travels. It’s been a good year!

Let’s start the year-end summary with a recent event: in Milan, the studio’s work was recognized by a prestigious international organization. What does this mean to you?

We have been members of a very exciting professional community for several years: este’r partners is a member of NEWH Milan, an international non-profit networking organization in the hospitality sector. This organization values female leaders and focuses on education, development, networking, and emphasizes the importance of recognition. It is a special honor that, alongside many high-ranking international and Italian design firms, our work was highlighted and praised this year.

At this event, you also mentioned two large and complex hotel projects this year. Why is this area so special?

Yes, I talked about two completely different projects at the awards ceremony, the Petit Bois boutique hotel in Balatonfüred and the new airport hotel in Budapest. In my opinion, an office needs to be experienced in hotel design, as this is one of the most complex areas of our profession. By drawing on professional experience gained in various projects and combining a creative and economic approach, it is easier to build successful and good hotels. Functionality, sustainability, implementation, and long-term operability must all be kept in mind during the creative process. As designers, we feel a great responsibility to ensure that these buildings function well, provide guests with a pleasant experience, and bring professional success to investors and operators.

International scale, specialized team, recognition. There has been a lot of talk about the TRIBE Budapest Airport hotel this year. How is it different from your previous work?

We have been working for several international hotel chains for years. Tribe is one of Accor’s dynamic and dominant brands, with a design focus on people, social connection, and accessible luxury. The brand and its brand book provide a defined framework for design, but designers are still expected to create something unique and recognizable that gives each Tribe Hotel its own identity.

How do these major projects shape your team?

We work hard on organizational development, but the planning areas cannot be completely separated from each other. In addition to project management, we have a creative team and a team focused on implementation planning. We have to place great emphasis on specifications and accurate material descriptions, which are fundamental to implementation, so some of our colleagues specialize specifically in FF&E expertise.

You are working on new international projects with your team. What can you tell us about them at this stage of planning?

Yes, the big news at our office for 2026 is that we have been working in Warsaw for some time on a heritage project for a well-known hotel chain. We are very much looking forward to its completion, for which we will be active consultants, and the opening is expected in 2027. In addition, we have several foreign projects in the pipeline or already underway, which I will be able to talk about next year.

Finally, how were your holidays?

After a very busy year, I spent the holidays with my family. Since we live and travel in three countries, it was really nice to be together with my children in one place. I would like to thank all our readers and partners for their collaboration, support, and opportunities in 2025, and I wish everyone a productive and successful new year!

"Amikor a Petit Bois öt csillagos szállodáról beszélek, három fogalom jut eszembe.

A régió legjobbja A Petit Bois Füred

A világ egyik legismertebb luxusszálloda-ipari versenye, a The World Luxury Hotel Awards a Kelet-Európa legjobb Luxury Adult Only Boutique Hotel díjat ítélte oda a balatonfüredi Petit Bois hotelnek.

A világ egyik legrangosabb luxusszálloda-ipari versenye, a World Luxury Hotel Awards a balatonfüredi Petit Bois Hotelt a Kelet-Európa legjobb Luxury Adult-Only Boutique Hotel díjjal ismerte el.

A beruházó LAKI Csoport elegáns, nyugodt atmoszférát teremtett, finoman megidézve a századforduló hangulatát, amikor a termálvizéről ismert fürdőváros a nemesség és a polgárság fénykorát élte. A megőrzött eredeti építészeti elemek — mint a történeti kőburkolatok és a restaurált faablakok — mellett a belsőépítészek bátran ötvözték a klasszikus és kortárs részleteket: stukkókat, valamint különleges anyagpárosításokat alkalmazva a kifinomult összhatás érdekében. A grafikai elemekben — például a tapétákon — Balatonfüred védett virága, a kökörcsin is megjelenik.

How tiling becomes more sustainable?

Have you heard about the 4th dimension of tile production?

My colleagues and I visited the Valley of Tiles to see how manufacturing is becoming more environmentally conscious, as well as looking at the new collections.

In Reggio Emilia, a fourth dimension has emerged in tile production. The heating of factory kilns with hydrogen is a sustainable and environmentally friendly technology. The Iris Ceramica Group has pioneered this field by opening the world’s first green hydrogen ceramics factory in Castellarano. This project has created a unique industrial process that sets new standards in the ceramics industry and contributes to the decarbonisation of the sector.  The factory produces green hydrogen from renewable energy sources such as solar power and uses rainwater for electrolysis, which breaks the water down into hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen is then used to heat the furnaces, and the water vapour from the combustion process is released back into the atmosphere, reducing CO₂ emissions.

In addition to incineration technology, dematerialisation is an important sustainability aspect.

Emilgroup produces large slabs of tiles using heat and drying. Slow firing de-stresses the tiles and allows the materials to be thinned. The Laminam factory, for example, can reduce the thickness of tiles to as little as 2 mm while maintaining their flexibility. The lightweight, large sheets reduce transport and handling costs. They are also ideal for renovation work, where they can be installed on existing surface layers without demolition.

The development of surface treatment technology also plays a major role in the aesthetic renewal of tile production. Touch, surface play, 800 dpi printing and full body technology are all tools that enhance the aesthetic experience of products. The stone-like materials that ripple to the touch bring the feel of real stone. 800 dpi printing allows the creation of highly detailed patterns on tiles. The full body technology means that the tiles have the same colour and pattern throughout the entire material, not just on the surface, so they retain their aesthetic qualities even when worn and their cross-section has a stone effect.

Together, these innovations contribute to a more sustainable and aesthetically high-quality product for the tile industry, while reducing the environmental impact.

Contemporary elegance in Buda – photos of the latest project by este’r partners

Nestled among the hills of Buda and embraced by forests, lies the estate of a renowned international producer; the interior of the new home was designed by este’r partners. The masculine villa with minimalist spaces is a real smart-home: it epitomizes the most modern design in a contemporary setting, its clean interiors and design solutions are centered around recharging and relaxation.

“We designed a reduced, black and white world for our client, a successful producer. It turned out at our first meetings that he is a passionate art collector, so this became the focal point of the interior design. From the very first moment, this project was a joy to work on, our client’s Anglo-Saxon elegance has set the direction for the project and his exquisite taste have been well reflected in the unified interior” – says Eszter Radnóczy interior designer, founder of este’r partners.

In Budapest’s new villa district, the architectural concept follows the terraced landscape, a sleek pool, sun loungers and a barbecue area can be found horizontally, the lower level of the house has a living room, kitchen and a community area while the upper level includes the bedrooms. A gorgeous black spiral staircase twists through the floors ending in a lookout point and a stunning roof terrace, these are the highest points of the house.

Sunny, bright spaces abound in the entire villa, the furniture oozes elegance with its classic black and white monochrome interior coupled with premium, light color scheme. Several state-of-the-art features were incorporated in the matt-glass front kitchen. The bed and the sofa are custom-made by the Italian Living Divani while the upholstery and the textiles were designed by este’r partners’ team selecting from the finest quality assortment of JAB Textil, Flukso and Radici. Most elements of this smart home are high-tech: curtains, fireplaces, blinds are electric, the kitchen includes smart solutions, and projectors ensure the highest quality movie experience.

Artworks, photographs and film documents – evoking the world of cinema – are dominant elements of the house, all enhancing the unique interior with cool details and a touch of humor.

Designed by este’r partnerts, the elegance and simplicity of this luxurious estate is everything a home was meant to be: refreshing, cozy, inspiring and relaxing.
